Day 1
Navigating Employment Law & Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI):
• Understand key employment legislation and awareness of its everchanging landscape
• Evaluating and influencing the management of equality and diversity law, legislation and internal policies
Day 2
Attract, Recruit and Retain:
• How to prepare job descriptions and person specifications and use these to shortlist applicants
• Methods of advertising vacancies, including the use of digital channels
• Creating an effective induction and probationary period for retention
Day 3
The Performance Management Process:
• Understand responsibilities for managing team, individual performance and meeting objectives
• How to ensure fair and objective assessment, conduct formal appraisals and the relevance of SMART objectives
• Setting and measuring performance standards why poor performance occurs. Know and feel confident in motivating and engaging the team
Module 4
When Conflict Happens: Investigations, Disciplinaries and Grievances
• Promoting a positive workplace atmosphere: identify, managing and mitigating the effects of conflict
• Investigations: it's purpose, balance of probability and all possible next steps
• Disciplinaries & Grievances: the process, policies & legislation, importance of record keeping and all possible sanctions
Completion of this course entails delegates submitting assignments and short answer question papers. The quantity will depend on whether the delegate has decided to complete an award or certificate. Alongside deadlines, this will be communicated at the enrolment stage.
Delegates will be required to attend all 4 training days.
