Effective Management Skills

A two-day non accredited course for Team Leaders, Supervisors and Managers ready to capitalise on their learned skills and experience to truly maximise the performance of their team through recognised managerial practices and techniques. Learn effective methods for holding team members to account for maximised productivity and performance. This course introduces how to manage change within the workteam and also the fundamentals of managing the team's mental health and wellbeing to overt underperformance and absences. This is ILM standard content without the formality or added requirements that an accredited course brings.

Managing others to deliver the business goals and objectives requires a set of skills that cannot be substituted by enthusiasm and dedication.

Day 1

Improving Performance of the Work Team 
• The organisation's requirements in relation to team performance
• Addressing team performance with SMART objectives
• Using motivation to improve performance

Planning and Monitoring Work:
• Understanding effective planning and monitoring
• Monitoring a team’s performance
• Allocating work
• Working within the organisational guidelines

Day 2

Understanding Change in the Workplace:
• Reasons for change 
• Dealing with different attitudes to change in the workplace
• Implementing, supporting, and maintaining change in the workplace

Understanding Mental Health in the Workplace:
• Understanding how to be mentally healthy
• Impact of Mental Health issues in the workplace
• Ways to approach team members who may need support
