Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

According to the Office for National Statistics, 1 in 5 UK workers experience sexual harassment in the workplace. The effects of sexual harassment in the workplace can be detrimental to both the business and employee. Business productivity is reduced. Employee’s mental health is harmed creating long lasting impacts that goes far beyond the workplace. This course is designed to help employers identify, manage and support employees through a sexual harassment complaint as well as introducing preventive steps to ensure such poor behaviour doesn’t happen again. Eventually, the manager will embed a culture where sexual harassment does not happen.

In October 2024, the Worker Protection Act will come into force. This legislation will place onus on the employer to protect employees from sexual harassment in the workplace. Whilst guidance is set to be released, training employees is a good place to start.
